Music Curriculum
- The Music curriculum is designed in a spiral fashion. Students in the six years learn from the basic to the advanced levels in different aspects of music, such as the knowledge of basic music theory, vocal, sight singing, computer music, world music, music composition, conducting, and instrumental experience. The curriculum is to increase students’ exposure to music, strengthen their music expressivity and enable them to enjoy music and see it as a life-long hobby.
- Our music curriculum is divided into “school-based curriculum” and “remedial curriculum”. The curriculum for P.1-P.4 and P.5’s 1st semester is largely of the “school-based” type. It has nine units, including Music Knowledge, Vocal, Sight Singing, Computer Music, World Music, Music Composition, Music History, Conducting, and Instrumental Experience. The P.5’s 2nd semester and P.6 use materials from the publisher Longman. We adapt the materials according to the standard of our students.
- This is a Christian school, thus students learn hymn singing in lessons in order to spread the gospel as well as enhancing singing skills.
